2. Nicotine Gum – I found the gum to be slightly more effective than the patches. It does somewhat help on your nicotine cravings. But somewhat being the keyword, your still craving a cigarette after all is said and done. They can help in cutting down how much you smoke in a day. And if you have the willpower nicotine gum can be helpful in your fight to finally quite smoking. But is it the best way to quit smoking? My answer is no, but it can be helpful.

3. Laser therapy – A laser is pointed at certain key areas of your body, that are supposed to turn off the nicotine craving switch in your body so you don’t want to smoke? I personally know 5 people that have tried this, I know not a big number – and 4 out of the 5 are right back smoking again. Not to impressive to me based on their results. Don’t completely count it out it does work for some. But is it the best way to quit smoking? Based on my personal opinion no!

4. Chantix – Based on my personal experience chantix worked the best for me. In a nutshell – you just pop a little pill everyday, and it takes the cravings away. I started noticing my nicotine cravings were going way down after the first week. But there is one bad side effect I did have when i was taking chantix. Bad dreams, I remember having a lot of nightmares for some reason when I was taking chantix. Not sure of the chemical reasons behind the bad dreams, but if it helps you to quite smoking than it’s worth it in my opinion! So was this the best way to quit smoking? From all the other conventional products on the market today I would say yes.

I was a heavy smoker for 26 years and tried EVERYTHING. The best (really, only) way to stop smoking is to take Chantix. Ask him to take it for a month. Tell him he can smoke all he wants while he’s taking it. If he’s like most people, around about the ninth day of taking it, he’ll want to smoke less. And that will continue all through the month. By the end of the month, if he has any desire at all to stop, he’ll be able to do it. Good Luck!
